The Pongrass News Editor operates through a standard web browser, eliminating the need for any local software installation. It offers a comprehensive set of features and allows users to work seamlessly whether they are in the newsroom or accessing it remotely from any location with internet connectivity. This versatile platform enables users to create stories for both print and digital media.
A tree view displaying all newsroom desks across the enterprise is supported. User desktop settings can be extremely customised for maximum productivity, and these settings are held in the user’s login preference. News Editor styles integrate with Pongrass InDesign Plug-ins.
Along with the server-based spell-check/thesaurus, News Editor enables browser-based spell-check as you type facility by downloading custom dictionaries.
Pictures & videos can be attached to the article, along with captions and notes with the click of a button. Uploads take place in the background, useful when available Internet connections are slow.
With the appropriate security login, users can allocate stories, pictures and story elements directly to the page. Previewing capabilities allow the user to check other page elements, ads and stories already attached to the page in real time.
